My dearest Fanny,
Your dandy letter to hand Saturday and was glad to here from my lover. Your letter of the 4th to hand and I see you was some what worried about me being sick abed. Well I had wrote you I was getting better in one of my letter and in Friday letter I told you I felt still better. But know I am alright again and glad of it because its bad when a person does not feel well. But I think I had the flu or the next thing to it but I must say I am alright again. This is my fourth letter I have writing this afternoon and I been hanging around the flat all day. So I thought I would write to my cousin and home to the Folks. I had a letter from home Friday and they are all well. bertha don’t write much it seems she is to busy to write much or she is tired from work all day and then come home and help mother and wash the dishes. I think the girls go to the show and like to play cards. Bertha wanted to know when we are going to get married so I told them in the letter next month. I guess Bertha don’t know much more then it is hard to write much.
Well I was at the market a few minutes at noon that all I have been out. I got some ???? meat and know I been cooking soup all afternoon. I got hungry for soup I bet you will laugh when I tell you I am cooking soup. I bought some new paper. The blue paper got the blues and run out. So I don’t know if you will like the wrapping paper color I know if you don’t care for the color of the paper you care for the boy who is writing on it and I know going over some of my things know that I am home. So I will send you a picture of Burling St Bealsty(?) and the other guy you know. I don’t know if you ever seen this picture it was taken two summers when we were on a picnick the one girl is the Friedeises(?)that day the bay settl know the one with a white sweater on. And the other girl that day. The boy sitting down is Friesesn. It is…to look over some of the pictures and think back I look at your pictures and kissed them haha. I rather have you here to give the kisses.
The weather is cold and I am in hopes it will get nice real soon. We are busy at the store always something to do there. I was in hopes Ben was coming but I guess you told him to wait a week or so. I expect Fanny will be glad to see him. I called up Fuente and talked with her and Selma has not come but they expect her any day. Fuente and Hattie are going on the South Side to Goodman to a birthday party, Funte said I should write this to you and give you her best. I told Fuente that I think Ben will be here some time soon and she said do you think Fanny comes along. I said I don’t think so. Fuente sad wouldn’t you like to see her. I said no, say dear I did not say anything to Fuente about us getting married next month. I thought I would let you write it. Fuente wanted me to go up to Hellen tonight but I said I don’t think i will go anywhere today. Stay at home like a married man should do ha ha.
Well dear I put some ha soup(?) soup and tea and say meat and biscuit Mrs. White made and your cake. It sure is great stuff. I could not eat as much of it as I would like to because I eat so much soup. I was just singing the song called “you made me what I am today, I hope you’re satisfied.” and Mrs. White laughed. Honey I hope yours and mother headache is alright again. When you get a head ache I will love you so much and make you forget your head ache.
So Jerry is gone again. Well is is a bub. I hope his song Fuist will be better when he is grown up. Well dear I was just thinking what you are doing today. I know you are singing at the Christian Church and how I wish I could be there to take you there and here you sing and bring you home.
I going to mail these letters and come home and read the paper and cash in. Could not get the record of the song waiting they are all sold out. But expect to get them later. My love to mother and Dady and the boys. And love kisses and hugs and 50-11 hugs and kisses for the cake because it nearly as sweet as you are.
From David.
