My Dearest Fanny –
Your two letter come to me. One for breakfast and the little letter for supper. So you shure know what makes me happy. Say dear I shure do enjoy your letter and read them over and over.
Yes dear I have no trouble to read your letter because [there is a tear in the paper here]… are dandy letter I shure [there is a tear in the paper here]… enjoy your letter. Dear if I were there I would kiss your fingers that you burned and then I know they would be alright, but since I am not there to kiss your fingers I hope they will be alright.
Fanny dear I was thinking about you yesterday while [there is a tear in the paper here]… is one big day on [there is a tear in the paper here]… of the Shrine being [there is a tear in the paper here]… I know you are a busy girl. I know I would liked to be there. I bet you had a dandy time. I just come home from the store and had my dinner there then took a shave. So I will look nice. I had to change ink. I don’t know if this ink will work better in my fountain pen. I don’t know just what is wrong with my pen sometimes the ink come so fast than again it does not come at all.
But you don’t mind dear that I use two kinds of ink to write to my deary as long as I don’t use F###(?) Ink?
Dear you shure had some ####(?) how I wish I was there to see how good you can cook. If cause you can practice on your bro and if can stand it if and live through it I know I will not have to have my life insured(?) You will not get ####ed(?).
Because I write and kid you dear. I know you can cook because Aunt Horm(?) told me so. So you are going to be good and not ####(?) with the old men but the young ones. Say dear have a good time. I trust you anywhere and you can do the same with me. You will find that out after you get to know better that I am not such a bad man.
Dear if I thought you did not care for me and realy[sic.] and truly love me I shure[sic.] could not put my whole heart and sole in you. So you see dear I think the world and all of you.
Fanny there is no one who can stand in our way or can change my mind. So don’t worry about Mrs. Whiter if she ever said one word about you I shure would let her here[sic.] from me. But she knows better.
So Fanny dear it you and you bet dear if you were as handy as your picture(?) you sure would get kissed and hug. Are you not sorry you are not here.
Well when I come down we can talk things over. Just look there dandy kisses. I am missing because I am not down in Kansas or because you are not here in Chicago.
Dear i don’t send my folks much money home just know they got their winter coal in and that takes extra money. If cause I always said if they needed money they should just let me know and they will always get it. I think there has been as long as six months gone along before they asked me for money. So the little money they asked me for does not amount to much.
Yes dear I received all the letters you sent back. Dear I will not do any deciding(?) at the ####(?) time as I wrote you in your letter. Let everything take it own course till in a month or so when them time come. You know my Bro is doing good and I real know the truth. I can get in the business anytime he will be only to glad to have me and if there is nothing during that is business does not pay. I can always work or busy a meat market.
I shure[sic.] honey you will always have plenty to eat if I keep my health and I hope more if everything comes my way. I send your picture home so sister can see my dear girl they wanted to know how you look I shure [sic.] give you some write ##(?). Dear I have dandy folks and I know they will just love you so much that I will get jealous. Enclosed I send you a picture of Bertha which was taken some years back but I think she looks the same.
Fanny if you want a nice chef hat you write Bertha and she will get you one cheap. She sent Freda a had sold for .20 but Freda said she did not like it so she sold it told one of the girls at the store for $5.50 but cost Freda only $3.75 so if you need a hat I know Bertha will take good care of you.
Well dear I going on the home run. I guess you know what I mean that this letter is nearly finish. You know dear I don’t like to say anything but Flora Kohn has not got those red hair for nothing. Say Flora neede not by her fardom[?] for going along that night to the station. I never thought anything of it so you can see how she thinks you know Fanny. Dear she is only jealous. It her only fault ler her treat the young men white[?] She don’t neede to think that the young men are looking for her. If a man is ny good can get a dozen girl. So if she don’t change her disposition she many never get a man who wants a cr##[?]. I don’t. You know dear I never went there on her account but for her folks. They are old friends of my mother from Europe the old folks are wise. I can’t say a word against them. But where Flora get those high ideas from I don’t know.
You know Fanny if Flora had it her way she would try and split us. I would not put it by her because she is a sane[?] head.
Yes dear that is true if I took in another city I would have to go through the same thing. But dear you know if I was in another state i must be there one year before I can send in my application and I don’t want that if cause they pass on me here I can go through the work wherever I am if that what your Dad means.
Well dear I going to send my pen down town with sister and see if they can get it to work better. I thought I was going to write a short letter and it looks like the Chicago daily news.
