Christmas day,
My dearest Fanny,
Your letter to hand of Dec 22th and I shure called that letter a Christmas present. Also the gorgeous silk shirt dear but that shirt is a wonder. I am so proud of it I can’t begin to write it, it shure is a winner and I don’t know how to repaid you for it. But if I were down home I would give one one million and one kisses I also enjoyed your letter. I told the mail man if he get any mail that he should leave it so at 2pm I went to see it there was any mail and shure enough my dear girl did not forget me. there was one letter and the box with the beautiful silk shirt. Honey that is the best shirt I ever had or owned. I was wondering why Lester Harn said here about four weeks ago. Dave that is a very pretty shirt you got on he said I like that. I said do you then he said what size do you ware. so that the reason he wanted to know about my shirt he liked well dear if I knew you were sending me a shirt I would not enjoy it as much as I would not knowing and getting it to my surprise. but dear there is one big thing missing to day and that is you. if you were here you would be sitting on my knee and we shure would do some hugging and kissing. These are the days I miss you and my people if cause when I am busy I don’t have time to get lonesome. I shure have done some work and I am glad it is over work every night till to 11pm till 1am the next morning and get out at 6 o clock 4 and five hours of sleep. I shure did sleep till 1:30am but I still am tired it will be a few days till I am rested up. I must of froze my left toe and it shure did hurt me last night in the store for about the last two hours I work. Well as I said I come home at 11pm and Mr Kaepke and I had tea and grapefruit and some of the delicious cake you sent me. Gee but it just as sweet and good as you dear or mother Heymann’s. Honey what do you call that cake is it a fruit cake and I think it will be better when it get older if it is a fruit cake. Shure is good. And I must give Mr Judy some of it because he is my bro and you are his new sister coraln and then it was one o clock till I got to bed and at 830am Mr Judy come into my room and awoke me up he had to go on the south side to his marry for breakfast so I brought some sausage home so he could take it over on the south side he come in my room and gave me a nice huge and a Christmas prsent, a leather box to put collars in. it shure is very nice and a full gift than he had to be o his way he gave his girl a picture he had taken at the same place where I always go in his uniform he shure look good. He is going to give us one and he wanted one of my picture dear don’t say anything in your letter to sister about having a picture taken I want to surprise them and send one home and I think Hattie asked me if she get one of them and Mrs White said she wanted one and I told her I am only haveing three made up and shes said she wanted one well I said one goes to my dear Fanny and one home and one I keep ha ha. She has the nerve of a brass monkey. I think she has a key that fits my trunk and sometimes opened it up and goes over some of my papers and your love letter I am not quite shure but I have a trap set. well there is only thing am almost through rooming so I should worry.
I always start one subject and finish on another well then Judy went I went to sleep and got up and got dressed and had dinner at Weil than it was 2 o clock when we were through dinner then I took a walk up at the store and found your welcome letter and box come home and sat around and was talking to Kaepke and he was writeing to his girl and he had to go to his cousin for 4 o’clock dinner so then when he left I read your letter over and eat some of the fine candy you sent me and know I am writeing to you and it is going on six o clock and when I am through with yhour letter I must write home and then I may walk up to Tante if it don’t get to late when I am through writeing and had supper. I have one shoe off the one that hurts me so how are your feet and hands. I hope better. yes dear I received a card telling me to come next Tuesday at 8pm to take my second but I shall write and tell them I am not ready. Yes dear I had no mail from you yesterday and I only got two letter this week if I am not wrong but the kletter I got today that Ben address I called a christmas gift. Honey I am glad you like your ring and if everything goes alright qand we have good luck I want you to have nice thing because that is one of my great pleasure if I can make you happy then I know you will make me happy in other words if you are happy I am happy because you are everything to me in this world.
Well dear I guess you have been singing today and again tonight ???? I wish I were there to here you sing but as you say why wish.
Honey I have not written you a dearest letter for a long time. I am so stiff and can’t write very well best you can read this letter alright it a little longer than the one I wrote you at 2 o clock the other morning. Honey you have a beautiful voice and I am darn fond of you and you don’t neede to worry that you can’t sing good enough for those people down there they never heard as good singing and I know because Iheart loots of singing but I like your voice the best of all. The only regret I find that we can’t be together more often so you could sing me to sleep ha ha. Thanks dear for saying such nice thing about me. Yes dear it might nice to be engaged. That is what cause Irene said yes dear I have forgotten about Flora letter and the nasty letter she wrote you, i do the same as you do forgive her.
Yes dear I wish I could see the nice thing you are getting. We will shure have a nice little home some of these days. I know we are going to get along just grant as I said before I was ment for you and you was ment for me. I talk to Mrs M Kohn Sunday evening and she wants to be remember to you and all of you. Honey it is the mail service they shure are some busy but it will get better again so we get our mail more regular.
So Fanny B sent you such nice modeira napkins and your aunt of Joplin is sending you a silk ???? gee but you will be all dolled up when you have it on.
Honey I wrote a letter to my bro see what he writes about the business.
Honey i got 300 00/100 gold of the boss for Christmas and the fine silk shirt of you and the box with the dandy cake in and the dandy candy if you were here I would give you a kiss for each piece in the box and the nuts. Honey do you know I never got time to eat any of those nuts you gave me along when I was down there. Mrs Judy gave me the leather box to put collers in and I got some cigars from customer and one dollar from a customer that is what I got for xmas. What did you get all. I am Sorry I never got time to get you something for Christmas. Well dear I don’t know how to thank you for the nice thing you sent me and I shure do appreciate them give my love to mother and father and bro and my best to find friday.
