My Dearest Fanny,
Your Dandy letter to hand of the 12th and sure was glad to here from my sweetheart. Gee dear that was a nice fat juicy letter I got to day if you were here I would give you 50-11 kisses. So see what you are missing. Well one month from to day you sure will be Mrs Eisman if I am alive and the trains are still running if cause this is funny to write this but they say you are here today and tomorrow never comes. I wonder if that is true. Yes dear Fanny I sure did enjoy your letter and it bring me much happyness. I only hope you get as much pleasure out of my letter as I get out of your letter. Your letter today I read it twice and I will read it again before I go to bed. I come home a little late tonight I had a few errands to run then come home and had supper at the flat with Mrs White we had Beef Veal and lamb stew. I sent her the meat because she was home today and I told her I would get the things we needed if she would cook them so I had a nice dinner and enough left over for tomorrow, Sunday I wrote you a real large letter and I don’t know how long this one will be till I told you all the latest that I know since I wrote you yesterday. Just when I was through writeing and had closed you letter, Fuente call me and asked me to come up so if cause you lover went up to see the folks and it been some time since I been up there they are all well and send their best and Selma is here and she looks well and want to be remember to you. She said to me Dave how did it happened you fell in love with Fanny this time you even never look at her when she was here before. Well I said I had my eyes closed or something like that I do remember a little about you four years ago when I first met you at 1949 but dear you was stout that time and know that you are just right and I had my eyes open that made a big difference. Selma said well what do you say about Fanny. Well I tell you I love her more than I can tell. Honey you know if I had seen Selma on the street I don’t think I would of know her. I thought she was taller girl than I had pictured her in my mind. Selma come Sunday morning to Chicago and had to stay nearly one day in Kansas City. I was wishing I had that time to lay over in Kansas City. I know they could not get me to CoffeyTown soon enough, ha ha. Yes but that would surprise you if I come running in on you. I bet you would through up your arms and say is you lover. Well dear I will tell you all who was at Fuente. Dave and his wife and daughter and she is some cute kid. I wish I were a cute kid once more. I tell you why everyone wants to hold you are be around you Mr and Mrs Scharmann and Fainby his sister and Mrs Martin. Dave and m sister and brother law and son of brothers. Lester and his friend George and your lover. That was quite a bunch, there was one missing and that was you.
Well we had a nice dinner and after dinner we played card and I won for a change, $205 and trying to win back what I lost. Yes Lester wanted me to go with him out to buy the deck cards because he wanted to tell me something so I went with him and he told me moby you think I want to lone money from you but that is not it but I will tell you when I was in the army I run short of money and wired Fanny for $25 and she sent it to me and I still owe it to her but in the am I going to send it to her but he said I thought she has said something to you about it and if not some time she would. SO I thought I would tell you, well I said Lester I know nothing of it. I remember dear you told me that Lester owed you some money but I thought it best to say I know nothing of it so I expect you will get your $25 he said his folks knew nothing of it and he did not want them to know it.
Well dear this was a regular March day. It nearly blew the Ford off the street but the weather is warm. Honey I glad Jerry is still alive. OS you sand Sunday well I iwsh I was there to here you sing. The only thing I can do is play waiting on the Victrola and think what every word means and think of you. I thought I was a good boy but if you say I am a naughty boy I expect I am. So you went back to the store well I expect my letter that you wrote me Saturday is written on the machine. Yes Cousin Julianous write a nice letter he think I am some boy. Honey I wonder if uyou can blush. I must try you sometime you know this is a show playing by that name sometime. Yes it a long time since I put my arms around you and give you a kiss. Well dear I don’t know just where would be the best place to go on our honeymoon but if we can’t find a place we will have time to figure out a place when I come down because I will be there a day or two before the W day. We will go some where and honey you must be afraid of your bro. What can they do but say all the nice in town don’t let them kid you because there day is coming two. But we will find a place I am not worrying about that. Honey suppose we went to Okla and some one knew us what then. We are married and I don’t care how many would know us it just t get away from the boys we will get a place. Honey about the ring we will talk that over when I see you. This is all for tonight because you want me to go to bed early.
