My dearest Fanny,
As this is Friday evening and got through working late tonight so had my supper. And a nice bath and shave and look at the paper to see what is the latest. The very latest is the coal shortage. Department store are open from 11am till 5:00pm and most all the shope and factories are working only six hours. Well dear I went to bed early last night 8pm and had a dandy night sleep and as soon as I am through writing I going to bed. Sweetheart it a good thing I was down to see you this last week ebcause there are very few trains running after Monday and those who are going traveling must have a good reason or else they will not even sell you a ticket.
So if you don’t get mail so regular you now why. So far dear I have not called up nobody and I don’t think I will get to call any of the folks till Sunday. The weather is cold here and Chicago had a little snow Monday. Honey how I hated to leave you. And you was in a hurry to get away from the station or did you not want to see the train pull out. I wanted you to stand there till I could not see you. But I guess you felt bad to see me go. And that is one reason you beat it around the corner.
Honey I told the Weil family about me being engaged and if cause the Dr. Weil seem alright about it but the old laidy and daughter did not take it so easy. I should marry. I told the Weild six years ago I had no intentions and would not want their daughter if she were hung full of gold. I never could bear here but I like the old people. Otherwise I never would of stuck around so many years.
Honey I wrote you a letter yesterday and one home to the folks. So I wonder when I get a letter from you dear. How is the dog. Honey you now I never care for dog but Jerry made a hit with me. How is your big little bro Richard? Ask him how he likes Sheets-Chocklet. Honey I got and amusement from the lodge that on Tuesday Eve the month there are haveing an informal dance and chonstallation ceremonies say bring your ladie. So if you were here. We would so well how is mother and lady and all your brother I hope fine five my love to them all. And oodles and oodles of love and kisses to you dear. I am your Dady forever and Later from David.
